Why Twin Prams Are A Great Choice If You Have Twins

If you're lucky enough to have twins you can have twice the joy however along with two babies comes double the responsibility and double the cost. More often than not, it can be extraordinarily overwhelming, especially for first time parents. Thankfully, there is now a broad variety of newborn equipment that you can use to make life a lot easier.

A twin pram is an important piece of baby equipment for multiple births. Twin prams are intended to make life easier for mothers who need to perform a variety of different tasks. There are many different types of twin prams that you will be able to find in your local baby store and online. The most common type for twins is the twin stroller. Strollers are a type of pushchair that is used from birth. They can be reclined to a flat position for newborn babies to allow them to sleep more comfortably, or placed in a slight incline position as they become older to help them sit upright and get to see the world.

Standard strollers available are only meant for a single baby to use. However with greater numbers of families than ever experiencing multiple births, twin prams are becoming much more widely available. Also called double pushchairs or twin pushchairs, this type of stroller is pretty much exactly like the regular strollers that you can find for single babies. However the main difference is that instead of just having a single seat, two seats sit side-by-side so you can push it around easily.

Twin strollers are a must for parents who have experienced a multiple birth for a wide variety of reasons. First, twin strollers are not as wide as other multiple prams that are available to buy. This means you don't have to be concerned about the twin stroller being a problem when you walk through crowded shopping malls or busy pavements. Another benefit with twin prams is it gives both parents an equal chance to bond with their children. Moms can feel their partners really share the weight of responsibility that comes with having more children at once.

Finally, the twin prams are much easier to push around when compared to strollers designed for carrying triplets or quadruplets. The more babies in the stroller, the heavier it gets and the more challenging it is to maneuver around when you go are out doing your chores or errands, or go with your partner and your family on vacation.

Forest River Charleston RV Review

The Forest River Charleston is a deceptively spacious RV with many different choices of finish available. It can sleep 4 - 6 people comfortably depending on the model chosen, but all boast an impressive 84 inch interior height. This helps add to the overall impression of both size and space inside the vehicle.

The dining area features a booth dinette with seat belts and drawers with overhead storage available. This provides enough space to comfortably enjoy meals and to seat extra passengers if required. With some floor plans, there is a passenger side sofa while all floor plans include a cloth driver side sofa bed. Smart porcelain tile adorns the entryway, galley and bathroom area with carpet options also available.

The kitchen is well laid out to account for a refrigerator, microwave and a 3-burner recessed cook top. More overhead storage is available in both the living area and the kitchen area. The cabinets are finished to a high standard and reflect an antique finish as standard. There is also adequate provision of solid counter tops to help with preparing meals as well as twin sink basins with solid surface covers to provide additional work space if required.

The bathroom area includes mirrored medicine cabinets along with a porcelain tiled floor and towel bars. Solid surface sinks with a solid surface countertop and double lever lavatory faucets add to the overall finish. A one-piece molded fiberglass shower with a contoured glass door completes the look. It has everything in the right proportion and enough space for storing any bathroom items necessary for long trips on the road.

The bedroom boasts a 72"x80" Island King bed with bedspread and bedside wardrobe. A cedar lined closet and overhead cabinets help add more storage space while the fluorescent lighting and individual reading lights make it easy to get the right mood for any night. The 19" color LCD HDTV included as standard makes it an ideal place to relax during the day or enjoy some late night TV on colder nights.

With the amount of space throughout the Forest River Charleston, there is even more available at the front end in the driver area. As the driver concentrates on driving, the passenger can relax and recline in comfort while enjoying the 32" color LCD HDTV. Both a driver side shade and a passenger side shade are available if needed as well as a one-piece power privacy shade if required.

5 Tips For Beginning Joggers

Jogging is an outstanding exercise. It offers so many benefits, from an excellent way to get into shape, to losing weight, to having some alone time for reflection and introspection. Let's not forget it can be a way of meeting some very interesting people. It is also a very inexpensive way to do all of the above.

You can get started for the cost of a good pair of running shoes. It takes about 30 minutes to get an excellent workout. With all those benefits you might just want to go out and run 10 miles before you finish reading this article. I would suggest you finish reading these tips first:

1. Before you even begin your running regime it is critically important that you have the right shoes for your feet. There are hundreds of different designs, types and styles for you to choose from. It is important that you choose functionality over appearance. After all, just because the shoe looks good doesn't mean it will feel good, or support your feet as needed. Go shopping and check out what is available and pick a good running shoe that is comfortable and fits your feet comfortably.

2. Start out with baby steps. If you jump right in without knowing what you are really getting into you may hurt yourself. If you are injured that will delay the benefits you were looking for, as well as the possibility of becoming disillusioned and stopping before you have even begun. Set some small goals initially and work your way up from there.

3. It is also important that you consider safety while you are running. I do not want to imply any will happen to you, but as you know an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Consider letting someone know which route you will be running and an estimate of when you will return. Carry your cell phone and some id with you. Run where there are other people around if at all possible. Depending on where you are running, get to know the rules for pedestrians. I live in the country and running on a gravel road in the opposite direction of traffic is safer, so consider your situation and adjust accordingly.

4. It is also important to listen to your body. Things do happen, like blisters, sores, and other type of injuries. Take care of yourself and don't push through the pain. No need to be macho. If your body sends you a signal listen to it and react accordingly. It might also be good to carry a water bottle with you since dehydration is no fun.

5. Get motivated! Perhaps you can bring along an iPod or walkman and load in some inspiring music or a motivational talk. It is important to keep encouraging yourself since after a few weeks or months you may be wondering why you are doing this anyway. There was an initial goal: perhaps it was a New Year's Resolution, some advice you got from your doctor or that wedding dress you want to fit into. Whatever the reason is it is important to keep it in your mind. It would also be great if you could make it fun. If you have a goal and it is fun then you will be motivated to keep doing what you are doing.

There are so many benefits to running that they could fill up dozens more articles - and it will. Remember every journey starts with the first step. In this case it will be that first jog down your driveway. Here's to your happy jogging experience - may you run for your health and have fun doing it.

Phil and Ted Stroller

The Phil and Ted stroller (Sport) is all the rage with young urban parents. It is good looking, comes in bright, snazzy colors, and it's from New Zealand! The Phil and Ted also boasts a truly unique design. It can be converted from a single stroller to a double stroller, and also reconfigured to carry toddlers, infants, or a combination of both. The idea is that the stroller grows along with a growing family. It works like this:

For your first child, the stroller is used in single mode and the seats recline so that the newborn may lie completely flat. As the child grows to a toddler, the seat adjusts so she can sit upright as in a regular stroller.

When your second child is born: the stroller is used in double mode, with child #1 sitting upright in front, and the newborn lying fully reclined in the rear.

As the newborn grows, you can purchase an extra seat that snaps on to the back - and presto - you have a standard inline double stroller - i.e. one child seated in front, the other child seated behind.

The Phil and Ted Sport is the latest version of two earlier strollers: the "Explorer" and the E3. The company has steadily improved the design adding new features and correcting old problems. They also produce the Phil and Ted e3 Twin which is a side-by-side stroller (with children sitting beside each other). The Twin is not nearly as popular as the Sport whose inline design easily gets you in and out of narrow spaces.

The Phil & Ted Sport is a good choice for everyday use: The inline design and swivel wheels make it very manoeuvrable and great for shopping. Handlebars are adjustable, and there is the ever-popular bumper bar for kids to grab hold of. The frame is lightweight aluminium and wheels are quick release for easy storage. However, the small front and back tires limit the stroller to smooth surfaces - no jogging or off-roading here! In addition carrying capacity is a bit of an issue, unless you purchase extra bags sold separately. These 'Pannier Bags' are like pouches that hang on either side of the stroller giving you extra storage.

The main complaint that you'll hear about the Phil and Ted Sport is the price. You can expect to pay about $400 for the stroller plus an additional $90 for the back seat attachment. Competing strollers in this price range are Bob Revolution, Mountain Buggy Urban, and Baby Jogger City Series.

Despite the price, a new Phil and Ted Sport may not be a good choice if you are planning to have more than one child. (In fact 75% of families have another child a few years after the first one!). So if you have one newborn and can't decide between a double or single stroller, the Phil and Ted Sport may be the safe choice for you. Happy Strolling!

Before, simply placing your child in a pram was thought to be safety enough for your child, but this is simply not true. What is So Special About the Maclaren Car Seat Strollers?

Maclaren is a UK based company known for its baby travel products-one of which is the Maclaren car seat stroller. But what's so special about this stroller? It doesn't look like much, but maybe it's worth more than it seems?

The Maclaren car seat stroller really doesn't look like much. It's black with eight wheels (four pairs side-by-side), and it doesn't have a seat of its own. It has an extremely roomy basket made with a light, translucent fabric in which to store all of your little one's things. However, because it is this type of stroller, it has two parallel bars for your baby's car seat to go on top of the basket.

It does save quite a bit of space, since all it's just a frame with a basket without the baby seat attached. It might be a bit of a pain getting the car seat in and out of the car every time you need to take baby out. It can't be said it's exactly a time-saver or anything. Pretty much, instead of unbuckling the baby and placing him or her in the stroller, you just unbuckle the whole car seat instead. On the flip side, it isn't wasting any time either. It also helps when your baby is sleeping, rather than remove him from his seat which will cause him to wake up, you can simply take the whole seat out of the car.

According to reviews, the main complaint about the Maclaren stroller is that there isn't a cup holder. It has also been said that the handles might be a bit tall for smaller parents, and they are regrettably not adjustable. Other complaints had to do with the baby being lower to the ground than a parent might like, the basket isn't accessible from the back of the stroller, and the basket, albeit being a good size, does fill up fast.

On the other hand, it has also been said that the basket is a good size (It depends on the parent. If you have more than one child, it may fill up faster.), it's extremely easy to steer, and is compatible with many car seats (even a few not on the list). The Maclaren is also extremely compact when folded up, saving more space than your everyday stroller.

How to Find Stroller Types That Best Match Your Newborn Baby

As new parents, you need to thoroughly prepare everything that your baby needs. One of the most useful investments that you can make for you and your newborn is a baby stroller. Taking your baby out in a stroller is much more practical and convenient than carrying your baby around. As a matter of fact, you can use it for the first four to five years of your child's life. So you should make sure that you choose the appropriate one. The basic rule of thumb: strollers for newborns should be able to fully recline. There are six types of baby strollers, each with its pros and cons. Not all are appropriate for your newborn. Below is the brief description of each type.

1. Standard or Full-size Strollers

Standard strollers are the most comfortable for babies. They are stable and they have large storage capacity as well as removable pads. They come in various designs, colors, and features. Most standard strollers suit newborns since they are equipped with full recline feature. The more expensive ones provide comfort not only for the baby but also for the carrier. They also come with more comfortable and sturdier handlebar, durable wheels, and advanced metal structure. However, the more features they have, the bulkier they get.

2. Lightweight or Umbrella Strollers

Lightweight strollers are also called umbrella strollers because of their umbrella-like canopies. This is the lightest and also the cheapest type. Unlike the standard type, umbrella strollers have fewer features and are made for convenience. They are best used for short trips. The compact design makes them easier to fold and store. You can put them in the trunk of your car or in the cabin of an airplane without any effort. Despite the convenience, these strollers are not as comfortable as the other types. Most of them are can not be reclined, so they are not suitable for newborns.

3. Jogging or All-Terrain Strollers

Unlike the usual four-wheel strollers, jogging strollers are equipped with three wheels. The front swivel wheel increases maneuverability. As the name suggests, this type of stroller is suitable for all terrain conditions. So it is perfect for outdoor activities such as walking, jogging, running, and hiking. Jogging strollers are durable and lightweight. However, certain models can be a bit too large and cannot be easily folded. Although some models have fully reclined seats, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that you should not use jogging strollers until your children are at least 6 months old.

4. Multiple Strollers

This type is the modified version of the standard stroller. Choose one with fully reclined seats if you want to use it for your newborns. The double strollers are ideal for parents with twin children or those with more than one infant or toddler. There are two types of multiple strollers - tandem strollers or side by side strollers. Tandem strollers are more convenient for narrow paths. However, your baby at the back seat will have very limited view. Side by side strollers provide equal view for your babies, but can be difficult to navigate through tight spaces.

5. Travel System Strollers

The travel system is the combination of a stroller and a car seat, therefore it is convenient for families on the go. Some models have the car seat permanently attached to the stroller, while others feature removable car seat. Because of its versatility, the travel system is actually less expensive than buying the components separately.

6. Backpack Strollers

These strollers can be easily folded into a backpack. They are convenient for outdoor activities such as hiking and sightseeing. They provide a better view for your baby and allow the freedom of using your hands since they do not require pushing.

Top 3 Features to Watch for in a Stroller

Choosing the best stroller can mean the difference between a happy and comfortable baby and one that just doesn't want to sit, while making your day much more active than originally planned. While a great stroller does have the baby in mind, it's also important to choose something that's easy and comfortable to use on a daily basis.

In order to get the best stroller for you and your baby, consider the top 3 features that everyone should always look out for:

Weight

One of the top features that always rates highly is a lightweight stroller. Heavy frames may seem like a strong and sturdy design made for long-term use, but it can certainly get very tiring pushing it around, even on small inclines. This tires you out and certainly causes a lot of strain on the body when having to lug it out of a car or carry it around with the baby every now and then.

There are many wonderful lightweight stroller designs that are made tough and durable but also light for those long days out or simply as less of a burden for repeated carrying and unloading.

Maneuverability

Another very important feature is wheel control and stroller maneuverability. This is very important for non-jogger stroller since they will generally be used outdoors and in every day settings like shops. Having a stroller that's very stiff or has uneven wheel control certainly dampens any time spent with it since most of the time will be spent trying to move it to the desired location without getting in anyone's way.

Smooth controls, good swiveling wheels and easy movement is essential for a stroller since one of the main purposes is to help you get from one point to another with as little effort as possible.

Padding

A stroller's main purpose is to provide comfort and safety to the baby sitting inside it. It's a way for the baby to see the world from a comfortable seated position or enjoy a peaceful nap when reclined. A stroller should always have thick and soft padding throughout the seat to ensure absolute comfort at all times. No matter which position the baby may be in, they should never feel discomfort or pain.

Check the seat padding for any soft spots or uneven padding levels since they may cause discomfort over a longer period of time. Also make sure to check how the padding moves when the seat is reclined, since there are some cheaper models that will have the padding bunch up and move along with the seat.

By keeping an eye out for these important features, you can rest assured that you've chosen the best stroller for many years of enjoyment for you and your little one.

Genealogy - Did Grandma Have a Grandma?

When I was a kid my maternal grandmother lived with us until she died of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1940. She was born in South Wales and was so small when she was born that they placed her in a sugar bowl and fed her with an eyedropper. The doctor said that she would not live but she was soon promoted to a shoe box and grew to a height of four-feet two inches.

When I was a boy, I always thought that she was so small because she was so premature. As a kid, it didn't dawn on me that her sister, who looked like her twin, was just as small and she had a normal birth as far as I know.

My grandmother learned to read English in her old age and I helped her with the words. She had lived in Utah since she was a young women and had outlived three husbands when she lived in our home. Her first husband died in the Scofield, Utah mine explosion along with about 250 other unfortunate souls. His name was George Martin and he sired two children before his demise in 1900.

My grandmother's second husband was George Taylor from whom I got my middle name (or my first name when I write as Taylor Jones the Hack Writer). Like Martin, he was a miner. My grandmother's last husband was named Burton and he was retired and dead before I was born so I don't know what he did for a living.

My grandmother's oldest son was named Dave Martin and he fought in the Great War. The Great War was the First World War where phosgene, and mustard gas were employed to do nasty deeds.

We kids use to help Grandma Martin Taylor Burton eat her breakfast every single morning. She always cooked two breakfast because the kids liked what she cooked better than what they could cook themselves.

I remember the day my grandmother died and I remember her horrible death snore as she passed on to the Great Beyond. I was eight years old.

So, I know something about my grandmother. I wasn't sure of the year of her death so I went to http://historyresearch.utah.gov/indexes/ and typed Burton, Mary Emily Taylor into the search box and up popped 1940.

That is called Genealogical Research.

I know nothing about my four great-grandmothers. If my grandmothers mentioned them, I don't remember the details.

So what if I wanted to find them?

Could I do it?

I could search census records, marriage records, death records, immigration records, and family records.

That would be a lot of work, right?

Well, let me tell you what is going on right now. Rather than ordering microfilm of old records, these old records are being indexed. That way, you will be able to find your ancestors quickly with a simple computer search.

For example, I just went to familysearch.org and typed in Mary Emily Taylor Burton. There were a lot of entries and I couldn't find her specifically, so I cheated. I put in my father's name and up popped his information. I clicked on "pedigree chart" and then clicked on my mother's name. That took me to my mother's pedigree chart and I quickly learned the name of my great-grandmother and learned that when I was trapping around Cornwall, England I was in the place of her birth, not North Wales. Her husband was the Welshman from Glamorganshire.

Once records have been indexed, it is much easier to do genealogy research. Many old records were microfilmed years ago. Now, you can help index these records. A couple of weeks ago I started indexing the 1900 Census records. I've now indexed such records for the states of Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

To start indexing, go to familysearchindexing.org. Follow the simple instructions. Note that you do not need to download the software if you have Java Script on your computer (as most folks do). You can quickly download the java script at http://java.com/en/ if that is the way you would like to go. If you don't want to use Java, download the software.

Indexing a census record is easy if you can read the handwriting. There are lots of sites on the internet that show old handwriting. An example is sullivanpress.com/Spencerian.htm I printed out the alphabet and use it as a guide when working on the 1900 census.

To index, you will be taking information from a census record and placing it into a table. First, you look at the upper right-hand corner of the census record for a big letter "A" or "B". That goes in the first box of the table (and all the way down the table in the first column).

Now look for a sheet number right under where you found the letter. That will go in the second column all the way down the page.

Now you are ready to index.

Type the following in each record: A or B, Sheet Number (these will come up automatically as you tab along the table), family number, surname, first name and initial or second name, title (Jr. Sr. Prince, Colonel, etc.), relationship (head, wife, sister, son, cousin, boarder, servant, etc.), race, sex, birth month, birth year, marital status, years married, children total, children living, place of birth, father's place of birth, mother's place of birth, year immigrated. You can note the occupations but do not put an occupation into the record.

Now hit tab until you get to the next family number and do it again.

There will be 50 records on a page. If a needed field (one with a *) is blank, use the "blank" button. If a whole record (line is blank), use the "blank line" button. If a space is unreadable, use the "U" button and if the whole line is not readable use the "U line" button.

As I index the census records for 1900, I see the difficulties some families had. Many children may have died of disease, Young mother's died possibly in childbirth. Children died in other ways, some most likely in the Civil War. Some families have adopted or step children from a second marriage. I had one record that was an institution where families where listed as prisoners, even little children. I wondered what could put a whole family in prison? Do you know?

As the Hack Writer, I like to look at the human experience. I never though much about getting such from a census record.

Well, don't just sit there. Start indexing. It's fun.

The End

First Birthday Invitation Sayings

Your child's first birthday is definitely a reason to celebrate and invite the whole world over to join you. For that you'll need birthday invitations, but even more important, you'll need some first birthday invitation sayings to put on them. Typically, the birthday invitation wording should be fun and playful, and perhaps matching an overall theme of the party. It's very common to see invitation wording for first birthday's to have a rhyming scheme or be in verse form. Here are some examples of some possible first birthday invitation verses:

"Our baby girl is turning one,
Come join us for a day of fun!"

Or,

"It's already time for his first birthday party,
Come celebrate with us and don't be tardy!"

You might consider including a theme. For example, if you want to have a princess themed party, you'll want to have the Royal Princess Party Invitations or the Little Princess Party Invitation. With wording to match, such as:

"Our little Princess requests your presence at a party in her honor,
To celebrate her first birthday.
Please join us at our castle on August 1st at 1PM."

Or if your little boy is having a dinosaur themed party, you'll want to have the Dinosaur Birthday Invitation with wording to match, such as:

"Saturday the 12th Alex turns one,
There's sure to be cake, ice cream and fun.
We can't wait to see you at our door,
You might even see a dinosaur!"

It's also recommended that you include a map with directions with the First Birthday Party Invitation, along with a contact phone number so that people can contact you in case they get lost. You can include this information in the body of the party invitation, such as:

"One candle on the cake,
On August 1st, don't be late!
Our baby's wish, he's turning one,
Is that you'll be there for all the fun!
Join us at 1234 West Park Street at 1PM
Please RSVP by July 25th
212-567-8910"

It can also be written on the back, separate from the birthday invitation wording, whatever your preference.

Some additional first birthday invitation saying suggestions:

"Fee, Fie, Foe, Fum,
Little Johnny's turning one!
His nursery rhyme party is almost here,
We hope we'll get to see you there!"

"Ice Cream, Cookies, Cake, oh my!
You're invited, so don't be shy!
A party for our little boy,
He's turning one, oh what a joy!"

Remember, you don't have to use rhymes.

Review of Create a King From Two Twin Beds Product

The Create a King product is designed to allow you to create a king sized mattress or bed from two twin beds. To achieve this the product requires that you simply place two mattresses together, put the poly sheepskin along the middle, adjust a belt to suit the length of the mattresses, and then secure the belt. The adjustable snap-shut belting is designed to ensure that the mattresses stay together securely and won't come apart when being used by the sleeper. The goal of the product is to provide the dimensions, space and comfort of a king-size bed instead of having two separate twin mattresses.

The product is machine washable so it can be cared for much the same way you would keep the rest of your bedding maintained and clean. The color of the product is neutral or natural, but once you have the sheets on the bed you will not be able to see the Create a King. In addition, the product can fit mattresses that are up to 80 inches in length.

Some owners say that the product has let them down because the materials that it is made of seem inexpensive and of questionable quality. They say that all that the product essentially consists of is a thin and narrow article of sheepskin and a nylon belt. Some owners say that a securing clip on one of the straps gave out the first time they tried to use it. Other owners, however, are pleased with the real world usability of the Create a King and are happy with how the product transformed two twin mattresses into a much larger bed without having to pay the hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for a king-sized mattress.

Sexy Red Bedding

There's something about red that indicates passion. Red roses are given for Valentines day for that very reason. I also happen to think that red is very sexy. I cannot be the only one in the world who thinks this, otherwise how would red roses have come to be associated with Valentine's Day? But think of it, when you think of sexy shoes do you not get a picture of shiny red spike high heels in your mind? Same thing for a convertible sports car. A yellow sports car is cute, and a black one is hot, but a red one is sexy.

Now I may be a bit prejudiced here, because red happens to be my very favorite color. I am very drawn to it, and I use it wherever I can. I am so happy to see that red is coming back into fashion, as it has been out of fashion for such a long time. For the first time since having my own home, I have been able to find red dishes for my kitchen. That is very exciting to me.

Now, it used to be that if you wanted red bedding you had to settle for what you could find. And when it came to bedding, about the only thing that you could find were red satin sheets. Which are great by the way. Except that I don't really like to use satin for my everyday bedding. There are times when nothing but satin will do, but at other times Egyptian cotton or flannel are just as appropriate.

Since I am such a red freak, I tend to pay attention to what is happening with red in the fashion world. And I'm happy to say that it is making a comeback! Now, in addition to those sexy red satin sheets, you can find plain old red cotton sheets, Egyptian cotton red sheets, red comforters, red blankets, and red duvets. And you can get all of these products in all types of fabrics. Satiny and shiny, jacquard, Egyptian cotton, and with or without patterns.

I did not realize until I went to look for red bedding, how many sports teams there are out there that have red as their team color. And although I did not find any in anything beyond twin bedding size, there are actually quite a few teams that have twin comforters in red bedding. Washington state, University of South Carolina, University of Maryland, and the University of Arkansas are just some of the examples. They had these beautiful red twin size comforters, with the team logo stitched on top, that would go great in any kids room that is a sports fanatic.

There is also some really elegant looking red bedding reminiscent of the Victorian era. It is a great example of some gold and red bedding in a great brocade look. All kinds of red bedding is available on the market today, and my only regret is that I only have one bedroom and that my bedroom at the moment has wine colored carpet and the red would clash horribly with that.

Well, there is the spare bedroom that has a nice beige carpet in it.

Creative Baby Shower Centerpiece Ideas

A creative baby shower centerpiece will serve to add an air of festivity to your event, pull your theme together, and delight your guests! Centerpieces range from beautiful flower arrangements to hilarious baby themed creations. If you're hosting a home baby shower, you will likely only need one or two large centerpieces, which can be placed in the middle of the table you are serving food on, and on a table that will be used to hold gifts. If your baby shower is going to be a more elaborate affair, such as a sit-down luncheon, you'll need a centerpiece for each table.

Floral Centerpieces

When people think "centerpiece" they often envision flowers. It only makes sense - flowers are beautiful, can be quite inexpensive, and add an air of festivity to any room! If you choose to use flowers to brighten your space, consider a potted arrangement, which the mom-to-be can take home and enjoy. Know it's a boy? Ask your florist to create a blue-themed arrangement, full of hydrangeas, irises, delphinium or hyacinth. Expecting a baby girl? Go pink with tulips, roses, or lilies.

Balloons

Nothing says "party" like a helium balloon arrangement! Have a stunning balloon bouquet created which can serve as a cheerful centerpiece at your baby shower. Balloons should be ordered in advance and picked up the morning of the event.

Cake

At many showers, a stunning cake does double duty as a delicious treat and a stunning baby shower centerpiece! Order your cake in advance, or bake it yourself. Place the cake on a beautiful tray in the center of the table, surrounded by flowers or candles.

Fruit & Candy

Head to the grocery store for colorful, vibrant items that can make gorgeous, inexpensive, and creative centerpieces! Brightly colored fruit can be piled into a basket, or a vase. A citrus theme is fun - choose oranges, limes, and lemons, then simply present them in tall glass vases. Get creative with your knife - carve a baby carriage out of a watermelon or create an adorable monkey theme with chocolate cake and bananas. Candy can be turned into topiary, a wreath, or divided by color and presented in crystal bowls. Not a do-it-yourselfer? Check your yellow pages for a company that creates stunning ornamental fruit arrangements.

Baby Basket

A simple basket lined with a soft blanket can be a lovely centerpiece. Have each guest bring something to place in the basket, then present it to mommy as a take home gift! Choose a theme, such as "funky baby one pieces," "beautiful bibs," or "baby booties."

A unique baby shower centerpiece doesn't need to cost a fortune! Start planning early and come up with an idea that will delight your pregnant pal. Create a masterpiece that is unique to your theme - and have fun watching it all come together.

Three Reasons Why You Should Buy Trundle Bed Covers

If you have decided that the best solution for your sleeping requirements is a trundle bed, then you will also need to buy some trundle bed covers. Since the trundle has become so popular, there are a lot of designs out there to choose from, and each one seems to come with a different set of linen and covers.

When you are buying furniture it is sometimes fun to mix and match between different manufacturers and designers to create your own look. However, with the trundle bed there are some things which you should buy at the same time.

Here is a quick guide to the different types of covers and why you will need to purchase these together.

1. The day and trundle bed combined covers. These are coordinated covers which fit over the day bed mattress, cover the trundle and also usually include some bolsters or cushion covers. It is worth buying these from the manufacturers of your daybed as they are then sure to fit. The ensembles are usually designed to make the combination look like one piece of furniture.

2. The trundle bed skirt covers. These are similar whether the trundle is fitted under a day bed or a standard bed. They are an important cover as they have two functions. Firstly they help to make the furniture look like one item and hence create a more streamlined look. Secondly they are act as a dusk sheet. This means that you can prepare the bed before your guest arrives and keep the skirt covers over it knowing that the bed linen will still be fresh.

3. The trundle bed mattress covers. These are the first layer of bedding for the mattress and I would certainly recommend that you buy these at the same time as the bed as you are unlikely to find the exact same size bed anywhere else. So to ensure a wrinkle free night it is certainly worth getting at least one of these, and probably two, in case the size of mattress you have goes out of production.

Once you have purchased one set of covers for your day bed you can always use these as a template in the future if you want to change the image of the room, but without the initial trundle bed covers it will be harder and more expensive to get new ones made.

Being a Twin

Most of you might have come across twins in your life. Some you may be having twins in your family. Watching twins is interesting but being a one is wholly a different experience altogether. I am being the one I would like to share with you few interesting events.

My self and my brother are twins and were studying in the same class. Very often our teachers and fellow students get confused while identifying us. Once a teacher had given a strange advice to us that we both should always sit together in the class to identify us easily.

At the time of college admission my brother was called first for the interview as his name came first in the alphabetical order. After his admission, when I entered in the admission room, all the members who were sitting in the room were taken aback after seeing me. One member even started scolding me by saying that just now you got admission, why you are coming again and waste our time? Though I told them that I am a different person they could not believe. I was forced to call my brother back to the admission room and proved them that indeed I am a different person.

After our college education, we both got our employment in different sectors but unfortunately in the same city. While traveling alone in the bus to my office, I always get wishes from few unknown persons daily. Initially I surprised about their behaviour. After few days I presumed that those who wished me probably friends or colleagues of my brother.

Once one of my close friends got angry with me for not getting any response from me when he wished me at a temple few days back. I told him that I never visited that temple on the day he mentioned. But he was in no mood to relent even after hearing what I was saying. Then I had to explain to him that we are twins and he perhaps might have met my brother. He was so embarrassed and said sorry to me.

Once I went along with my wife to a general store. The shop owner after seeing me wore a mischievous smile in his face and asked me, are you making merry? I was shocked to hear such an unexpected comment from the shop owner. With irritation and anger I asked him what do you mean? He bluntly told me that yesterday you came to this shop with another lady. One minute I did not know how to explain to him that the one he claimed to have seen may be my brother and his wife. After this incident I took a vow not to reside in the same area where my twin brother is living to avoid embarrassment, which is happening to us as well as to others.

Graco Baby Brand Strollers Are the Way to Go

Any person who has ever been out shopping for baby shower gifts or baby travel accessories will have discovered that there are a multitude of products on the market that carry the Graco Baby brand name. Graco Inc. has a long history in the baby product market and they have developed a very good reputation for making products that are not only of high quality, but also affordable.

The Graco line of baby car seats, as well as the Graco strollers, are probably the best known and most popular of all their products. Because safety is of such great concern when it comes to anything related to babies, and especially when it comes to car seats and baby strollers, it is comforting for parents to know that Graco products are highly rated, with regard to safety standards and overall quality and durability.

There is a great selection of Graco baby vehicle seat models that a new parent can select from. Some models are very lightweight and easy to move from one vehicle to another and are great for use with toddlers. These can often even be used later as a booster seat when the toddler has outgrown the baby seat, yet isn't big enough to ride without some type of car seat.

There are also several baby car seat models made by Graco that are designed especially for newborns and infants. They provide the maximum amount of support and comfort to the baby while also offering all the safety and security for the child that a parent could ever hope for. Some models have adjustments that allow the car seat to be used as the child grows into the toddler stage. Of course, the more adjustable and adaptable the model is the more you can expect to pay for it.

While some people think that they might as well buy a baby car seat that can be used from the time a child is newborn all the way though the toddler stage and even beyond, for many new parents the cost is just prohibitive to do that. Fortunately, Graco provides lots of options to parents so that they can find just the right thing that fits into their budget.

Sometimes, it just makes sense to purchase the lower priced item even when you know in six months to a year you will have to buy something else to accommodate the child as they continue to grow. While this often is the least expensive approach, sometimes it is the only way to fit the necessary baby travel gear into the budget at that stage. With all of the models of Graco strollers, baby car seats, and other baby products, the parents always have a choice no matter what stage of development their child is in and what type of baby travel accessories they need at the time.

One very popular Graco baby product is the Graco Duo Glider baby stroller. It is able to handle either twins, or a newborn and a sibling who is still in diapers.

This Graco stroller has a large storage bin for carrying the necessities that are needed, and it has a tray for each seat as well as cup holder. In addition, the rear seat is slightly higher, giving the child in the back a view of where the family is headed.

Burton Blunt Review

Here is the Burton Blunt review; many people are asking for this as this board is popular among snowboarders.

Generally beginners love this deck as it is progressive and forgivable. Following is a Burton saying about the Blunt: "Tank armor construction with a art of pure Freestyle".

Because of its affordable price, its solid construction, the Burton Blunt is perfect for beginners and intermediate Freestylers who ride mostly in the park.
Burton also states that you can drop from a 20-star handrail without problems!

This is a skate like snowboard which now offers a wider stance width to bring more stability to mid-wide feet and every Freestylers. Every professional snowboarders know that a wider waist width makes the difference when stomping landings and getting tech on rails.

The core of the Burton Blunt is the Fly Core which yields the board to carry enough pop while still being durable. Its negative core profile makes it more flexible in adequacy to park, rails and pipe riding. The Twin-like shape offers versatility and added pop taken from a directional shape plus a twin inspired tail and tip for switch riding and landing.

The Burton Blunt also features Biax React Fiberglass conducting the deck to have a low torsional flex and forgiving feel and thus making it perfect for taking new tricks to the next level.

Burton shipped this Blunt with a Lightspeed Vision base. This base is simple yet carrying strength and speed while easy to maintain for a smooth ride. As always Burton takes the graphics as a very important factor. The design is a detail of the perfection of any professional work.

Many Customers have made a Burton Blunt Review, they generally love the board. Few riders have cracked a bit the deck on tail and nose, they must have gone very bad with the deck! With the Blunt you can kill the park and not your cash flow but don't ride in the street tracked by a truck though!

The Burton Blunt is definitively a great first board easy to learn on and spinning around with control. Light and strong at the same time, you will enjoy buttering with it!

With your Burton Blunt, you should have soft boots and the bindings which fit them. For instance go for the Burton Freestyle Snowboard boots which are copied by many snowboard brands.

GBC CombBind C500 Plastic Comb Binding Machine Review

Overview:

Formerly known as the ibico ibimaster 500, the GBC CombBind C500 is both a plastic comb binding machine and a 3:1 pitch twin loop wire binding machine, making it possible to use Plastic Combs, Double loop wire, Proclick and Zipbind all with the same machine. Beyond a great selection of binding options, the C500 also provides simple, fold-up storage, allowing you to hide the machine away with a minimum of effort. In addition, the streamlined design of the machine gives it great form, as well as function. All of these features work together to create an excellent option for your comb binding needs.

Features:

The C500 has many useful features, beginning with dual punching slots to punch a 3:1 pitch round hole wire pattern, and 19 hole rectangular holes for plastic comb binding. It is also capable of binding documents up to 9/16" with wire, documents up to 2" thick with combs. The round hole 3:1 pitch punch is also compatible with 3:1 pitch spiral coil. All of this combines to make the C500 one of the only machines available on the market that can use twin loop wire, plastic combs and spiral coil binding. In addition, the C500 is capable of punching standard sized and oversize covers, which can be an excellent and versatile feature. In addition, the C500 includes a plastic comb opener and a twin loop wire closer. This allows you to effectively finish both comb-bound or wire-bound projects.

The C500 offers form, as well as function. It boasts an ergonomically-designed punching handle. This handle is the ideal solution for operators who are either left handed, or right handed, this allows a greater number of personnel to work on the machine. In addition, the C500 has a compact design, which makes it very suitable to folds up for storage making it ideal for organizations that are short on space.

Limitations:

Although the C500 is an extremely useful machine, it is not ideal for organizations that need to bind odd sized documents. The reason for this is that the C500 machine does not include a depth of punch margin control or disengageable dies. Both of these features are good to have in a binding machine, and without them, there are limitations, particularly with larger volume projects. In addition, the fact that the machine is manual can also be problematic for larger projects and can become quite tedious for organizations that bind a large number of documents.

Finally, the machine does not have a coil inserter. This can be a potential problem, because the very popular 3:1 pitch spiral coil must be inserted by hand, making the entire process longer and somewhat inconvenient. This, along with the other limitations, should be considered when making decisions on the suitability of binding equipment for your needs.

Construction:

The C500 is not an extremely heavy-duty machine. Because it has a plastic body and handle, it is not suitable for long-term, high-volume use. For moderate use, however, this equipment is very suitable for moderate volume applications. In this scenario, the C500 should hold up quite well for most of your binding needs, both long and short term. The wire closer uses a plastic adjustment mechanism to set the closing gap. If this mechanism is not properly cared-for, this equipment could potentially wear over time, and could cause issues that could cause problems later.

Recommendation:

The C500 is great for small and mid sized organizations, unsure of the binding-type they need. Because the system offers five major choices (including: Combs, Wire, Coil, Zipbind and Proclick) it is a very versatile machine and is highly recommended for applications requiring versatility. The convenient, fold-up design makes the system easy to store, but it you are interested in high-volume binding, the C500 may not be the ideal for you. So take a good, hard look at the C500 and see If it is the right equipment for you.

Which Double Stroller? Tandem or Side-By-Side

Double strollers come in two different designs: side-by-side or tandem. Given the number of questions on this topic on various parenting forums, parents seem to be confused about which to pick, and understandably so: there is no single answer. Both designs have their pros and cons so it all depends on your specific needs and priorities.

Let's examine the advantages and limitations of both side-by-side and tandem style strollers:

The seats in tandem strollers are by definition one in front of the other, which allows for a much narrower frame. The obvious advantage of the tandem design is that it is easy to get through doors, hallways, isles, sidewalks and other narrow passages.

From a child socialization point of view, your children will tend to interact less with each other in a tandem stroller because they typically won't see each other and won't be within reach of each other. This may be a good or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for! Interacting less might mean longer naps and less fighting but it also means that they won't be able to play or communicate with one another as much. The amount of interaction you'll want may also depend on their respective ages: Twins might be better off side-by-side whereas siblings of different ages may be happier in a tandem stroller allowing the infant to nap while the older one plays.

Note that a few tandem stroller models now allow turning the seats so that children face each other or both face back to see mommy (for infants). This is a great feature that makes such tandem strollers a very attractive choice.

A side-by-side design is harder to get through narrow doors but is typically easier to maneuver. Not only side-by-side strollers tend to be lighter but the width between the handles makes it easy to turn on a dime. In contrast attempting to make a u-turn with a tandem stroller in a crowded supermarket aisle can be a real challenge given the length of the stroller and its weight distribution. And it's even worse when the older heavier kid is in the front, which of course they will want to be!

For errands where you have to get in and out of a car, note that side-by-side strollers tend to be smaller once folded and since they're also typically lighter, it's easier to fit them into the trunk of a car.

So before spending $500 on the coolest looking double stroller out there, make sure to factor in how maneuverable and compact you need it to be as well as whether you want your kids to interact or leave each other alone!

Latex Mattress

Use of mattresses to ease our body constrains from day to day work pressure and desire to sleep comfortably and relaxed without any sort of disturbance. After a day filled with stress, sitting on a chair in one posture and working continuously each and every person wants a relaxed and sound sleep. Thus mattresses should be comfortable enough.

Latex mattresses are popular spring mattresses used commonly by athletes and have a good quality of no flip. Flipping is not required with latex mattresses. Latex mattresses have a beneficial property of being warm in winter and cool in summers. An emulsion of polymer micro particles in an aqueous medium is Latex. It may either be natural or synthetic. Latex in its natural form is the milky sap of many plants that has the tendency to coagulate on exposure to air and is biodegradable.

Latex is very long lasting and does not sustain molds, bacteria, mildews and other microorganisms. They are thrice more impervious to microbes than other ordinary mattresses. It is made up of proteins, sugars, oils, tannins, resins, alkaloids, starches and gums. Latex can be in variety of colours such as white, yellow, orange and even scarlet. It is also used to refer to natural latex rubber; particularly for non-vulcanized rubber. Synthetically polymerizing a monomer that has been emulsified with surfactants leads to the formation of artificial latex. The laticiferous system of plants found in roots or stem of plants contains latex in cells and vessels. The latex of many plant species can be processed to produce other materials.

Latex provides the commercially popular natural rubber as the most important product. Primarily, our latex choice can be either NaturalSense or Talalay process latex. These both types of latex result in long lasting and more resilient latex. NaturalSense latex is 100% natural and therefore has achieved the perfect resilience and longevity, while the Talalay Latex contains a mixture of synthetic and natural latex. Natural talalay is also available in market but is more expensive.A quality innerspring latex mattress should last long, be durable, strong, insect resistant and anti-sagging. Latex Mattress is perfect for the ultimate combination of luxury and practicality. All natural Latex Mattresses are multi-layered with enhanced support.

Latex mattress customarily adjusts to the contours of our body, providing comfortable orthopedic support thereby maintaining proper alignment of spinal cord without impacting capillary blood flow restriction. Latex has a major drawback as it is allergen and might cause anaphylactic shocks. Residues of other components used for processing of latex also act as possible allergens and cause reactions known as multiple chemical sensitivity.

GBC MP2000W3 Modular Fixed Die 3:1 Pitch Twin Loop Wire Binding Punch Review

Overview:

The GBC MP2000W3 is a fixed die modular binding punch that produces a 32 hole square hole pattern (on an eleven inch sheet) for use in binding documents with 3:1 pitch twin loop wire.
It is meant to be used in a small to medium sized organization that needs to bind documents using twin loop wire.
This machine does not include a wire closer but instead is designed to be combined with either the GBC MC50 manual wire closer or the GBC TL2900 electric twin loop wire closer.
The MP2000-W3 can be used by a single operator who does both the punching and binding or can be used as part of an assembly line to help increase productivity.

Strengths / Features:

This machine is designed with a vertical punching throat. This allows users to use gravity to help align their pages for punching. As pages are inserted into the MP2000W3 you can simply tap them on base of the punch and slide them into place. This is helpful for making sure that your pages are always lined up for punching and eliminates costly mispunches.
The MP2000-W3 is a medium duty wire binding punch that is capable of punching up to sixteen sheets of twenty pound paper at a time. It produces a three to one pitch hole pattern that has three holes per inch (32 holes on an 11" binding edge). Although there are certainly machines on the market that are capable of punching more sheets, this machine does an excellent job and offers exceptional punching quality. The hole pattern produced by this punch can be used for binding documents with 3:1 pitch wire, GBC Proclick and with special 3:1 pitch spiral coils.
The MP2000W3 has convenient and easy to use punching controls. You can activate the punch by pressing the conveniently located palm switch on the front of the machine. Or if you prefer you can use the heavy duty foot pedal control that is included with this machine. In general the push button control will be faster for short run production while the foot pedal will be better for long runs. However, the choice is really yours.
The modular nature of this machine allows it to be used as part of an assembly line for creating wire bound documents. By having one person punch your documents while another person binds it is possible to almost triple your productivity over the use of a standard all in one binding machine. This can present substantial cost savings to your organization and gives you an option for completing those important jobs quickly and efficiently.
The MP2000W3 uses a fairly unique edge guide control that is easy to adjust and move. I was impressed at how easy it was to move the edge guide and lock it in place with precision. This makes setting this machine up for punching different sized documents a lot easier.

Weaknesses / Limitations:

This machine is designed to produce a 3:1 pitch hole pattern that is traditionally used with twin loop wire. However, 3:1 pitch wire is only available in sizes between 3/16" and 9/16". If you need to bind documents that are larger than this you will need to choose a different binding style. If you want to use wire to bind larger documents you will need a machine that can punch a 2:1 pitch hole-pattern. Many organizations opt to purchase an interchangeable die punch such as the MP2500ix which allows them to switch punching patterns in order to bind both large and small documents.
The MP2000-W3 has a two second punching cycle. The punching cycle is a measurement of the time that it takes for the machine to punch a lift of paper and reset itself so that it is ready to punch again. A two second cycle is fairly comparable to the punches that are included on most desktop wire binding machines. However it is fairly slow for a modular binding punch.
This machine does not come with a wire closer for finishing your books. However, in order to use this machine with 3:1 pitch twin loop wire you need to have a wire closer. GBC makes two options for wire closers that can easily be stacked on top of the MP2000W3. The MC12 is a twelve inch manual wire closer and the TL2900 is a heavy duty electric wire closer. Both machines work great, the choice will mostly depend on your budget and how many documents you need to bind.
The MP2000W3 does not have fully disengageable dies. Instead, there is a small section on the machine behind the punching slot that flips up. Inside that section there are seventeen disengageable punching pins. Using these pins and the open throat design of this machine it is possible to punch virtually any size of document. However, if you have a particular document size that you need to bind it is a good idea to check first to see if this machine can be configured for use with that length of sheet.

Recommendation:

The MP2000W3 is ideal for small and medium sized companies that are looking for a high quality electric punch for binding documents with 3:1 pitch twin loop wire.
This machine is designed to be used along with a modular double loop wire closer which can be conveniently stacked on the top of the punch or can be used on the side in an assembly line fashion.
This machine is an excellent option for organizations that only do one type of binding and want to increase their productivity without breaking the bank.
However, organizations that do a lot of punching or who need to bind documents with multiple binding styles should really look at an interchangeable die binding punch such as the MP2500ix or the GBC Magnapunch.

Strollers - Which Kind is Best?

There are so many different types of strollers out there it is hard to know what kind is right. Do you get something lightweight or heavier, an umbrella stroller or a jogging stroller? Well, here is a basic list of the different types of baby strollers.

Umbrella Stroller

An umbrella stroller has curved double handles and they fold up easily and compactly, like an umbrella; hence the name. These are the smallest and lightest baby strollers available. They can have a cloth or vinyl seat on a basic frame with swivel wheels. Some offer features such as a canopy and a storage basket. This is a great stroller for short trips where you don't need to bring a lot of stuff with you. But beware; they are not as sturdy as other strollers and don't offer the same safety features. They are also not meant for children less than 6 months or children unable to sit unassisted in an upright position.

Lightweight Strollers

Lightweight strollers are mid-sized strollers that can be very basic or come with many features. There is an abundant selection of lightweight strollers, so make sure you know what your needs are before you begin to shop around.

Lightweight strollers are meant for basic baby transportation like shopping, walking on paved sidewalks, etc. They are not meant for all terrain, running, or jogging. These strollers are more comfortable and practical than umbrella strollers and there is a huge selection of models and styles. There are lots of them that come with many different practical features such as a canopy, cup holders and extra storage space. Many of them may work with an infant car seat, meaning you can put the car seat in the stroller and they have good durability.

Travel System Stroller

Stroller travel systems are the ultimate in convenience for a parent with a newborn because they include the car seat, stroller, and a car seat base. They are the combination of a good-sized stroller, with an infant carrier that buckles in and out. If you are planning on only buying one stroller, this would be great because they work from birth to toddlerhood. They also have many features available like a cup holder and extra storage space. However, be aware that the weight is considered too heavy by some and the lower quality of some of these may lead you to buy something else after your baby has outgrown their infant car seat. They are also not suitable for rough terrain, running, or jogging.

Jogging and All-Terrain Strollers

These strollers are heavy duty strollers that can come with many features. More and more parents are using jogging strollers to get out of the house and exercise. A true jogging stroller is meant for serious running and has 3 large inflatable tires, with a fixed front tire. Jogging strollers are built for speed, not handling. Trying to use them for other activities such as shopping may lead to frustration and disappointment.

All-Terrain Strollers

Which are also called sport strollers or sport utility strollers, are great for walking on or off paved roads. They are very durable and can handle most terrains. They also can fit through most doorways and are pretty easy to use. They can be difficult to turn if the front wheel doesn't swivel, so you may want one with a front wheel that has the ability to turn.

Double Strollers

These strollers are great for multiple kids. Depending on the type of double stroller you get, some can accommodate an infant car seat. They can have many features and the high quality ones are pretty easy to maneuver. On the other hand, they are quite bulky and harder to carry around.

You just need to decide what you will be using the stroller for most and what features you would like. I would make a list of the most important things that you want in a stroller and go from there. You also have to realize that you might not be able to get a stroller with all the features that you want, so decide what is most important to you and your family.
