Baby Christening Ideas - Decorating Tips For a Perfect Day

When planning your baby's christening, at the top of your baby christening ideas "to do" list should be to decide how to decorate the church, hall or whatever venue you have chosen. Altar decorations are important as all eyes are on the family gathered there for the ceremony so a lovely floral arrangement or other suitable decorative items are a given. But, if you really want your celebration to be shine, the decoration of the pews, the entryways and windows are details that should be addressed.

By this time you may be mentally ticking over your available budget. The purpose of this article is to tell you that it's possible to decorate the entire sanctuary in a tasteful (and affordable) manner so that the entire area is made festive, not just the few square feet where the actual dedication will be performed.

I have a few baby christening ideas that are not expensive that can guide you in your efforts to decorate the church for your baby's dedication ceremony in an elegant and reverent manner without stressing your budget to the breaking point.

HALLS and ENTRYWAYS
Decorating the entry to the festivities gives the ceremony a sense of place and importance and we have some tips on how to get the job done without buying expensive items that you will never use again.

Landscape lanterns taken from your own home can be spaced along the sidewalks and decorated with bows for an inexpensive treatment. Borrow large potted plants from a friend to place on each side of the door and drape yards of pink or blue fabric on the handrails. For an informal gathering, arrangements of helium balloons are not out of the question.

LIGHTING
One of my favorite (and cheap) baby christening ideas is to have the baby's christening ceremony performed by candlelight. Candles at the altar and hurricane lanterns with burning candles along the aisles will provide just enough light and create an atmosphere that is amazingly spiritual and inspiring.

The only problem with this is that some churches frown on open flames used as decorations anywhere other than on the altar. The reason for this is not only that burning candles present a fire hazard; the melting wax from the candles has a nasty way of ruining carpets and the finish of antique wooden church pews.

To avoid paying for damages, perhaps the best option for subdued lighting would be to dim the lights using the dimmer switch if one exists or to use strings of twinkle lights creatively arranged along the aisles or in floral arrangements in which case you will need to know the location of electrical outlets.

HOW MANY PEWS SHOULD WE DECORATE?
The first order of business will be to ascertain how many pews will actually be filled. You can guess at this figure by the counting the number of RSVP's that have been received. If the number of loved ones and family that will be attending will only occupy a row or two, decorate those pews and use the rest of your budget to decorate the sidewalks and doorways leading into the church.

INEXPENSIVE PEW DECORATIONS
If your goal is to keep it simple, you can't go wrong with pink satin bows for a baby girl, baby blue for a boy or green or some other gender neutral color for fraternal twins. To save time you can have a florist tie the bows but position them yourself to avoid additional service charges. If you have the ability to design a professional looking bow, you will only be out the cost of the satin ribbon.

Dressing up the satin bows that you made for pews is easy to accomplish with pretty nosegays of flowers. For an informal gathering, you can attach some balloons filled with helium in your colors to the bows positioned at the ends of the church pews. I have seen balloon arches used rather than flowers to decorate the front of the church as well as the pews to take the ceremony in a lighthearted yet still respectful direction. The upside is that balloons are frivolous and fun and much less expensive than fresh flowers.

These are just a few baby christening ideas for decorating your venue in a unique yet inexpensive manner.

Buy Cheap Antique French Clock

If you are into French culture and you collect antique clocks, chances are you are on a look out for antique French clock. You shouldn't have to look any further because the Internet will provide you with the information you need on the clock that you want to buy.

Take for example, a French ormolu mounted veined marble portico clock. Now this antique French clock is a best seller simply because of its elaborate designs and detailed finishing.

It also has a history behind these. The numbers on this particular clock are inspired by Arabic art. The mechanisms consist of a two train movement that allows the bell to be struck every half hour.

The case surmounts the wreath that is the trademark of this specific antique French clock.

There is another one that comes with cast flowering plants on a galleried demi lune platform that is supported by columns. Together, the designs are surmounted by wreaths, and enameled dials with the matching pair of urns.

Now these designs are very eye catching and they literally declare the antique French clock to anyone who wants to include these to their collections.

Another one that stands out in anyone's collection is the 19th century French ormolu and white marble clock garniture. It has a clock with circular dial, twin winding holes, numerals, and eight-day movement.

It strikes on a bell and the square tapered base has an applied ormolu decoration on the plinth base has a cast brass feet. The two-light candelabra are also modeled as flowering and leafy stems.

The fine French brass-cased four glass mantel is the trademark of most designs. Most of these models have white-enamelled Arabic chapter rings with swag decorations.

The framing of the gilt centers the designs and literally shows the collector that this is a piece worth obtaining.

The arched cases come up with a beveled glazing and cast foliage and the flaming torches and quivers of arrows on four block feet of the h mercury and two-jar pendulum.

Finally, the late 19th century rouge of the marble clock garniture of an antique French clock is surmounted by gilt that has a bronze eagle and serpent with an applied ormolu floral decoration.

The pair of classical rouge marble urns are then upon square molded rouge marbles. These elaborate decorations are what set the antique French clock apart from the rest.

Prams for More Than One Child

There is a multitude of choices for parents when it comes to buying that most required of children's transport, the pram. With all the choices available it can be quite daunting choosing which would be the most suitable, this is especially the case when it comes to choosing a pram which needs to accommodate two children of different ages. The pram choice should ideally be based upon your children's ages, size and temperament, knowing these facts will aid your final choice of pram tremendously.

Prams for more than one child differ in style and layout and can be in the form of a specially made pram or one that can be adapted upon.

A specially made two child pram is known as a double pram which can be either side by side or tandem. A side by side pram enables both children to have full seats allowing easy accessibility for the parents, they also provide double the storage space, which with children you can never have enough of. However the size of a side by side pram can be disadvantageous, as it can cause manoeuvrability difficulties within shops with narrow aisles and they can be quite heavy and large when folded, they also enable your children to have access to each other, which may not be a good thing if you're children do not tend to get along, or have a wide age gap, having your new born baby woken up constantly by your energetic toddler is not something you need happening on a busy shopping trip.

A tandem pram is ideal if you have got children with a wide age gap, as you can lay one seat flat for your baby at the back of the pram while your toddler is able to have their seat sat up at the front of the pram, so they can see what's happening around them, thus leaving your baby to sleep peacefully without interaction from your other child. The great attraction about the tandem style is that because of their frame they are just as narrow as a single pram, so you don't have the problems of manoeuvrability like the side by side style, a disadvantage of this style though can be the handling, as typically the larger of the two children will have to sit in the front seat, as this is unable to be in the lie flat position and having a heavier weight at the front than the back of the pram can compromise on steering.

Stroller Buying Guide

Stroller Handle Bars - The stroller handle bar is an important feature of any stroller. You want the handles to meet your particular height comfortably. Stroller handles are usually most comfortable if they meet level to your hips. It doesn't have to line up exactly, but you should not feel as though you are stooping down low to push the stroller. The stroller handle bar also shouldn't be so tall that it becomes awkward to push the stroller with full control. If there will be people of different heights pushing the stroller, you may elect for an adjustable height stroller.

Stroller Wheels - Smaller swiveling wheels are easier to maneuver. They handle turns and quick changes in direction well. Smaller wheel strollers are good for walking and smooth surfaces.

Larger wheels are easier to push over rugged terrain and are better for jogging. Large stroller wheels give you a smoother glide and easier curb and bump handling.

Pneumatic Stroller Wheels - Pneumatic stroller wheels are air filled tires. They provide a cushioned comfortable ride and they run smooth over uneven surfaces. They are usually found on full size and jogger strollers.

When considering strollers keep in mind your cargo/trunk capacity of your vehicle. The larger tire strollers take up a lot of cargo space and may not fold as flat as strollers with smaller tires.

Stroller Width - It is important to consider stroller width when making your decision. Most doorways are 32 inches wide. So some double/twin and jogger strollers wider than 30 inches may have problems fitting through doorways. And you don't want to discover your stroller is too wide on your first trip out with your new baby and no preparation.

Stroller Seats- When considering stroller seats you should keep in mind that it is recommended that babies up to six months old lie in the fully reclined position. If you will be transferring your infant car seat to the stroller (so you don't disturb your baby) you must make sure the stroller you choose is compatible with your infant car seat.

Stroller Seat Pad - One thing that is unavoidable with babies are spills, spit-ups, and the occasional diaper malfunction or accident. You may want to choose a stroller with easy-to-remove, machine washable stroller seat pads.

Stroller Color - Your stroller color reflects your artistic side as well as your babies, it is your personal choice. Light colors and bright colors are easier to see if you will be walking or jogging in dimly lit areas. Light colors will help your baby stay cooler in the sun and summer just as yourself. Darker stroller colors are more traditional and more resistant to staining.

You can save countless hours and hundreds of dollars by having a stroller buying guide before you buy.

Baby Hair Accessories - The Easy Way to Add Style To Your Hairless Baby!

Newborn babies are a complete joy regardless of whether parents have single children, twins, boys or girls. However, many mothers actually enjoy having girls much more because they have the opportunity of dolling them up and making them look cute and pretty. The market is filled with wonderful baby hair accessories that can give you a newborn baby girl a different look every day of the week!

Most newborn babies do not usually have a lot of hair, so of course it will be a little difficult to find baby hair accessories that will actually work in their hair. Ponytails definitely may not be an option in the early stages, so you can forget about hair barrettes that facilitate that type of hairstyle. Instead, why not consider baby hair accessories like headbands, clip on bows and mini hair clips?

Here are some of the most popular baby hair accessories on the market today based on purchase trends by consumers:

• White Rose Baby Headband by Funny Girl Designs - this headband costs $11.00 and is perfect for your baby's christening
• Pretty in Red Baby Girl & Toddler Hair Clips Set - Set of 6 by Little Celebrity - this product actually comes with 6 hair clips suitable for babies. It usually retails for about $13.00
• Carter's 3 Pack Girls Fun & Fancy Headwraps - Pink/White, 0-6 Months - Carter's is a popular name in baby products and this pack of colored head wraps is a top-seller. You can get it for about $8.00
• 3-in-1 Gerber Daisy Flower Hair Clip Bow on Soft Stretch Crochet Child Headband - for $4.95, you can get this headband that also doubles as a flower hair clip. Your baby girl will look simply precious if you style her with this Gerber product
• Sweet Lil' Butterfly - Baby Girl & Toddler Mini Hair Clips - Set of 5 by Little Celebrity - this is another set of mini hair clips for baby girls and toddlers, and it retails for just under $10.00. Clips are the perfect way to accessorize baby girls who do not have much hair

As you can see, the range of baby hair accessories that are available is still vast even if your baby does not start to grow hair for a few months down the road. You can still do something very different every day to make your pretty little girl even prettier with any of these hair accessories listed.

What Are The Best Baby Strollers?

Choosing the right stroller for your baby is like choosing a bottle of wine. The best one is the one that is suited to your taste. Babies sleep for most part of the day and it is important to choose the best and safest stroller for your baby. When choosing baby strollers, it is important to consider some factors first before buying. The needs of the mother and the baby must also be taken into consideration.

The primary factor to note when buying baby strollers is safety. That is usually the first thing that comes into play. Are there safety features on the stroller? Most of the manufacturers make sure that the products they have are safe for babies. They ensure that the requirements of the parents are met. Make sure that the stroller is stable and it has the ability to bear with bumps.

If your child is still in diapers, then you might want to consider a stroller that has a diaper bag or a cargo net especially if you will be out for a number of hours. It is ideal to have a stroller with a five-point harness.

The type of wheels that comes with a baby stroller is also important. There are parents who check the wheels and base it on the type of wheels when making a purchase. There are strollers that are best for parents who go for a jog. There are also strollers that can easily maneuver on corners. These are useful in crowded areas like malls. The handles must also be checked. Adjustable handles are recommended so that they can be easily moved.

The budget also comes into play when considering the kind of stroller to buy. Some parents are in a budget but not to worry, there are still quality strollers that can be bought at an affordable price.

There are other features in a stroller depending on what you want. Parents who often have drinks on hand would want holders on the stroller. If a parent likes to listen to music, there are strollers that are equipped with mp3 connectors and speakers.

There are parents who prefer to have a lightweight stroller especially if they often go to places where there are plenty of people around. A lightweight stroller can be easy to maneuver through the crowd. Make sure also that the stroller can fit at the back of car.

Create a Jurassic Kingdom For Baby With Dinosaur Crib Bedding

Whether furnishing a nursery for baby or choosing a gift for a friend or grandchild, shopping for nursery items is fun. In addition to the traditional pink and blue pastel color schemes, nursery bedding and accessories are offered in vivid colors and use a variety of designs for an imaginative themed nursery.

Designing and decorating a nursery are effortless when using crib bedding sets that include all the basic nursery items along with coordinating accessories. Bedding for baby comes in a range of fabrics, from organic cotton to micro-suede and polyester blends. Accessories from diaper stackers to toy bags to wall décor make nursery decorating a snap.

For a boy, the Dinosaur Land dinosaur crib bedding set by JoJo Designs is perfect. Made in a chocolate and camel patchwork design, with rust, avocado, and butternut yellow dinosaur appliqués, it creates a colorful and playful Jurassic nursery. Machine washable, the nine-piece set is a combination of 100% cotton and durable, wrinkle-free micro-suede that includes everything to outfit the modern nursery. The set includes a crib bumper and crib skirt, a comforter, a fitted crib sheet, a diaper stacker, a decorative pillow, two window valances, and a toy bag. Presto! The bedding set itself creates a prehistoric dinosaur-themed nursery.

The 45-inch X 36-inch comforter has realistic and detailed embroidered appliqués of a triceratops, stegosaurus, brontosaurus, and the mighty T-Rex on a patchwork of rust, camel, and chocolate. The 100% cotton fitted sheet in butternut yellow; the dinosaur-appliquéd bumper with camel ties; and the embroidered coordinating crib skirt with a camel jagged edge all fit a standard crib mattress. A lumbering brontosaurus and flying pterodactyls enhance the two solid chocolate brown 84-inch X 15-inch valances. The coordinating diaper stacker, toy bag, and a cute appliquéd throw pillow complete the look. In addition to the basic bedding set, coordinating wall hangings, curtains, laundry hamper, changing pad cover, lamp shade, and a pterodactyl baby musical mobile are available.

Dinosaur crib bedding is so whimsical, that it can also be used for a baby girl's nursery also. It makes for a happy-looking nursery. The variety of dinosaur themed decor is amazing. Not only sheets, blankets and quilts for the crib, but lovely outdoorsy looking wall hangings, drapes of all varieties, wooden book-ends, pillows and shams, even plush dolls.

The dinosaur theme grows with baby as toddlers and preschoolers are avid dinosaur fans, too. If the difference between T-Rex and stegosaurus confuses, better add a couple of good picture books to the nursery bookshelf...for the adults!

5 Baby Delivery Tips You Should Know

Expecting mothers all want to know how they can increase their chances of having a quick, relatively painless delivery of a healthy baby. There are a few key things you can do to make the process easier on you and your baby. The most important preparation will take place in your mind.

Help Make Your Birth Easier (Always consult your doctor before attempting any routine):

1. One of the best baby delivery tips you can get is to use your mind. Practice deep meditation for months leading up to your due date. This will not only allow you to deal with the pain that comes with every childbirth, but will also help you focus and push properly when needed.

2. Practice controlled breathing daily. As the later part of your pregnancy creeps up, you'll be ready for the contractions when they come.

3. Yoga is fast becoming one of the most recommended baby delivery tips these days. Yoga not only strengthens your body, but allows you to hone your mental focus and better control your breathing, making it a multifaceted exercise with many benefits.

4. Hire a "Doula" to ease the delivery. Most people hire a Wedding Planner for their wedding, a Financial Planner to help with their retirement plans: So why not a professional trained in childbirth (Doula)? They can help you get ready for childbirth, during childbirth and even help you through the first few weeks of being a parent. Countless studies have shown that time spent birthing your child can be reduced by nearly 40% with the addition of a Doula, or mid-wife as some traditionalists may refer to them.

5. Don't be afraid of an epidural. The more natural a childbirth is, the better it is for the baby. However, if you're otherwise healthy and in an extreme amount of pain: The epidural can help relax you if all other methods fail. Your delivery doctor will assess whether you can have an epidural or not (health risks are possible with certain pre-existing health conditions).

Baby Strollers - Baby's First Mode of Transit

Baby's First Vehicle
There is nothing like a baby stroller for convenience. They are compact in size, light-weight and made of sturdy materials to protect baby. Baby strollers are available in various styles and colors to suit most preferences. Many are so lightweight that they simply fold away when not in use. This is a great feature in crowded shopping malls or in buildings with escalators or elevator access. Baby will love being mobile in a comfortable stroller. There are strollers for the lucky parents of multiples, twins and triplets and baby's sibling nearest in age.

You have Come A Long Way - Baby Strollers
Gone are the heavy, chrome baby strollers of the early 1930's and '40's. Baby's new mode of transit is streamlined for Mom and Dads convenience and baby's too. The first strollers were not exactly convenient. Most took up a lot of room and had only minimal ability to fold away. Someone had Mom and Dad in mind when the first generation of totally mobile strollers made the scene in the late 1970's. These strollers grew lighter and lighter in weight while each new generation of babies enjoyed their ride.

This Is The Way To Travel
The latest generation of baby strollers feature things like a sunshade for bright sunlit days and insect screens to protect the precious cargo from those nasty flying creatures during their daytime or late afternoon stroller trips. There are several models that even have a compartment at the back of the handle for Moms shopping stuff. What could be handier?

Check Before You Buy
One important feature to check before purchasing a baby stroller is compatibility with baby's weight. Too lightweight and baby's safety from tip overs may be compromised. This is especially true of older babies and toddlers who prefer the stroller to trying to navigate a shopping mall. Make certain stroller wheels are strong enough to hold baby's weight adequately and that the seat is adjustable for baby's future growth. The stroller should have a strong seat belt as well to hold a squirming toddler in place and to avoid frontal tipping.

Names like David & Daniel, Jayden & Jordan, Elijah & Isaiah, Ethan & Evan, Andrew & Matthew, and Gabriel & Michael are among the most popular twin baby names for boys. These names are both adorable and similar enough to represent twins. For twin girls, names like Faith & Hope, Olivia & Sophia, Ella & Emma, Ava & Emma, Madison & Morgan, and Gabriella & Isabella are among the most popular. These names are both traditional and contemporary making today's parents choose these pairs of names more often than others for their new twin girls.

What Causes Twin Babies?

When a woman becomes pregnant, the thing she may be most curious about aside from the sex of the baby is how many babies there are. Multiple pregnancies that occur through natural methods are a mystery to some people. It is interesting to learn about what causes twin babies in order to determine if it is a possibility for everyone.

Twins that are conceived without the use of fertility drugs are made in two ways. The first is the release of multiple eggs or more than one ovulation at the same time. Each of the eggs is fertilized by a separate sperm, resulting in fraternal (non-identical) twins. The second way is when only one egg is released and fertilized, which then splits into two. This splitting of the egg creates identical twin embryos within the uterus.

The possible differences continue throughout the period of pregnancy. There may be either singular or multiple placentas and amniotic sacs. It is important to determine whether only one sac is present because this situation will cause the twins to be at risk for complications. Possible situations include the umbilical cord becoming entangled or the development of birth defects.

If twins occupy separate amniotic sacs, there are not inherent risks than the singular variety of pregnancy. The main complications that can occur pertain to premature labor and delivery. Identical twin embryos also run the risk of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. This condition involves a problem with the placenta that causes only one baby to receive all the nutrients. If untreated, the baby that does not receive nutrients may die and the larger baby may have too much fluid surrounding it, leading to possible heart failure.

When a woman learns that she is pregnant with twin babies, she may have a lot of questions regarding how this happened and whether any extra care should be taken during pregnancy. The situation is simply one of nature's miracles and usually will not present any complications. As long as the babies do not share amniotic sacs, the most common issues are going into early labor and giving birth prematurely.

Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller - Equal Treatment For Both Siblings!

For parents who are looking for the best double stroller for toddler and infant, the Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller is THE double stroller to get.

Single Or Double Strollers?

For parents who have more than one baby, it would be better for them to purchase a double stroller instead of getting two single baby strollers. I mean, parents have enough stuff to lug around these days without having to think about pushing two baby strollers. This is provided that they have around two babies who could be twins or siblings whose age gap is rather close. Rather than both parents having to push two single strollers around which could be rather tiring, parents can just choose to buy a double stroller that will solve their problems. If you are expecting twins, then having this stroller will make life easier for you.

Siblings Together

For parents who have two babies, this stroller will be ideal as both siblings can sit or sleep side by side with one another when going out together. This offers parents the convenience of bringing both their babies out together in one stroller rather than two separate strollers. For a single parent, this would make life easier as they also have to think about juggling the groceries and other baby products that they need to bring around. One of the things that I like about this Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller is the fact that the stroller seats can be interchanged with a carrycot which can be purchased as a separate accessory. So if one baby wants to sleep completely, parents have the option of taking out one of the stroller seats to change into a carrycot while the other stroller seat is maintained. One baby can be sleeping peacefully while the other sibling could be wide awake still wanting to take in all the sights and sounds. Pretty cool huh? If both of them want to sleep, then both stroller seats can be removed and substituted with either two single carrycots or a duo carrycot (which is a twin carrycot) turning the stroller into a pram!

Same Treatment

Since both babies are able to ride together in the best double stroller for toddler and infant, they are both getting equal treatment. Their view is the same and did I also mentioned that this stroller is able to recline completely? Other than great safety features like padded harness and crotch restraints, both your babies get to enjoy a comfortable ride together whether you are bringing them around on smooth road surfaces in the city or rugged terrain in the outdoors!

Summary

Parents need to consider the benefits of getting a double stroller compared to a single stroller if they have more than one baby so that both get equal treatment. This will provide parents with the satisfaction of bringing their babies out together.

Why Twin Prams Are A Great Choice If You Have Twins

If you're lucky enough to have twins you can have twice the joy however along with two babies comes double the responsibility and double the cost. More often than not, it can be extraordinarily overwhelming, especially for first time parents. Thankfully, there is now a broad variety of newborn equipment that you can use to make life a lot easier.

A twin pram is an important piece of baby equipment for multiple births. Twin prams are intended to make life easier for mothers who need to perform a variety of different tasks. There are many different types of twin prams that you will be able to find in your local baby store and online. The most common type for twins is the twin stroller. Strollers are a type of pushchair that is used from birth. They can be reclined to a flat position for newborn babies to allow them to sleep more comfortably, or placed in a slight incline position as they become older to help them sit upright and get to see the world.

Standard strollers available are only meant for a single baby to use. However with greater numbers of families than ever experiencing multiple births, twin prams are becoming much more widely available. Also called double pushchairs or twin pushchairs, this type of stroller is pretty much exactly like the regular strollers that you can find for single babies. However the main difference is that instead of just having a single seat, two seats sit side-by-side so you can push it around easily.

Twin strollers are a must for parents who have experienced a multiple birth for a wide variety of reasons. First, twin strollers are not as wide as other multiple prams that are available to buy. This means you don't have to be concerned about the twin stroller being a problem when you walk through crowded shopping malls or busy pavements. Another benefit with twin prams is it gives both parents an equal chance to bond with their children. Moms can feel their partners really share the weight of responsibility that comes with having more children at once.

Finally, the twin prams are much easier to push around when compared to strollers designed for carrying triplets or quadruplets. The more babies in the stroller, the heavier it gets and the more challenging it is to maneuver around when you go are out doing your chores or errands, or go with your partner and your family on vacation.

Forest River Charleston RV Review

The Forest River Charleston is a deceptively spacious RV with many different choices of finish available. It can sleep 4 - 6 people comfortably depending on the model chosen, but all boast an impressive 84 inch interior height. This helps add to the overall impression of both size and space inside the vehicle.

The dining area features a booth dinette with seat belts and drawers with overhead storage available. This provides enough space to comfortably enjoy meals and to seat extra passengers if required. With some floor plans, there is a passenger side sofa while all floor plans include a cloth driver side sofa bed. Smart porcelain tile adorns the entryway, galley and bathroom area with carpet options also available.

The kitchen is well laid out to account for a refrigerator, microwave and a 3-burner recessed cook top. More overhead storage is available in both the living area and the kitchen area. The cabinets are finished to a high standard and reflect an antique finish as standard. There is also adequate provision of solid counter tops to help with preparing meals as well as twin sink basins with solid surface covers to provide additional work space if required.

The bathroom area includes mirrored medicine cabinets along with a porcelain tiled floor and towel bars. Solid surface sinks with a solid surface countertop and double lever lavatory faucets add to the overall finish. A one-piece molded fiberglass shower with a contoured glass door completes the look. It has everything in the right proportion and enough space for storing any bathroom items necessary for long trips on the road.

The bedroom boasts a 72"x80" Island King bed with bedspread and bedside wardrobe. A cedar lined closet and overhead cabinets help add more storage space while the fluorescent lighting and individual reading lights make it easy to get the right mood for any night. The 19" color LCD HDTV included as standard makes it an ideal place to relax during the day or enjoy some late night TV on colder nights.

With the amount of space throughout the Forest River Charleston, there is even more available at the front end in the driver area. As the driver concentrates on driving, the passenger can relax and recline in comfort while enjoying the 32" color LCD HDTV. Both a driver side shade and a passenger side shade are available if needed as well as a one-piece power privacy shade if required.

5 Tips For Beginning Joggers

Jogging is an outstanding exercise. It offers so many benefits, from an excellent way to get into shape, to losing weight, to having some alone time for reflection and introspection. Let's not forget it can be a way of meeting some very interesting people. It is also a very inexpensive way to do all of the above.

You can get started for the cost of a good pair of running shoes. It takes about 30 minutes to get an excellent workout. With all those benefits you might just want to go out and run 10 miles before you finish reading this article. I would suggest you finish reading these tips first:

1. Before you even begin your running regime it is critically important that you have the right shoes for your feet. There are hundreds of different designs, types and styles for you to choose from. It is important that you choose functionality over appearance. After all, just because the shoe looks good doesn't mean it will feel good, or support your feet as needed. Go shopping and check out what is available and pick a good running shoe that is comfortable and fits your feet comfortably.

2. Start out with baby steps. If you jump right in without knowing what you are really getting into you may hurt yourself. If you are injured that will delay the benefits you were looking for, as well as the possibility of becoming disillusioned and stopping before you have even begun. Set some small goals initially and work your way up from there.

3. It is also important that you consider safety while you are running. I do not want to imply any will happen to you, but as you know an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Consider letting someone know which route you will be running and an estimate of when you will return. Carry your cell phone and some id with you. Run where there are other people around if at all possible. Depending on where you are running, get to know the rules for pedestrians. I live in the country and running on a gravel road in the opposite direction of traffic is safer, so consider your situation and adjust accordingly.

4. It is also important to listen to your body. Things do happen, like blisters, sores, and other type of injuries. Take care of yourself and don't push through the pain. No need to be macho. If your body sends you a signal listen to it and react accordingly. It might also be good to carry a water bottle with you since dehydration is no fun.

5. Get motivated! Perhaps you can bring along an iPod or walkman and load in some inspiring music or a motivational talk. It is important to keep encouraging yourself since after a few weeks or months you may be wondering why you are doing this anyway. There was an initial goal: perhaps it was a New Year's Resolution, some advice you got from your doctor or that wedding dress you want to fit into. Whatever the reason is it is important to keep it in your mind. It would also be great if you could make it fun. If you have a goal and it is fun then you will be motivated to keep doing what you are doing.

There are so many benefits to running that they could fill up dozens more articles - and it will. Remember every journey starts with the first step. In this case it will be that first jog down your driveway. Here's to your happy jogging experience - may you run for your health and have fun doing it.

Phil and Ted Stroller

The Phil and Ted stroller (Sport) is all the rage with young urban parents. It is good looking, comes in bright, snazzy colors, and it's from New Zealand! The Phil and Ted also boasts a truly unique design. It can be converted from a single stroller to a double stroller, and also reconfigured to carry toddlers, infants, or a combination of both. The idea is that the stroller grows along with a growing family. It works like this:

For your first child, the stroller is used in single mode and the seats recline so that the newborn may lie completely flat. As the child grows to a toddler, the seat adjusts so she can sit upright as in a regular stroller.

When your second child is born: the stroller is used in double mode, with child #1 sitting upright in front, and the newborn lying fully reclined in the rear.

As the newborn grows, you can purchase an extra seat that snaps on to the back - and presto - you have a standard inline double stroller - i.e. one child seated in front, the other child seated behind.

The Phil and Ted Sport is the latest version of two earlier strollers: the "Explorer" and the E3. The company has steadily improved the design adding new features and correcting old problems. They also produce the Phil and Ted e3 Twin which is a side-by-side stroller (with children sitting beside each other). The Twin is not nearly as popular as the Sport whose inline design easily gets you in and out of narrow spaces.

The Phil & Ted Sport is a good choice for everyday use: The inline design and swivel wheels make it very manoeuvrable and great for shopping. Handlebars are adjustable, and there is the ever-popular bumper bar for kids to grab hold of. The frame is lightweight aluminium and wheels are quick release for easy storage. However, the small front and back tires limit the stroller to smooth surfaces - no jogging or off-roading here! In addition carrying capacity is a bit of an issue, unless you purchase extra bags sold separately. These 'Pannier Bags' are like pouches that hang on either side of the stroller giving you extra storage.

The main complaint that you'll hear about the Phil and Ted Sport is the price. You can expect to pay about $400 for the stroller plus an additional $90 for the back seat attachment. Competing strollers in this price range are Bob Revolution, Mountain Buggy Urban, and Baby Jogger City Series.

Despite the price, a new Phil and Ted Sport may not be a good choice if you are planning to have more than one child. (In fact 75% of families have another child a few years after the first one!). So if you have one newborn and can't decide between a double or single stroller, the Phil and Ted Sport may be the safe choice for you. Happy Strolling!

What is So Special About the Maclaren Car Seat Strollers?

Maclaren is a UK based company known for its baby travel products-one of which is the Maclaren car seat stroller. But what's so special about this stroller? It doesn't look like much, but maybe it's worth more than it seems?

The Maclaren car seat stroller really doesn't look like much. It's black with eight wheels (four pairs side-by-side), and it doesn't have a seat of its own. It has an extremely roomy basket made with a light, translucent fabric in which to store all of your little one's things. However, because it is this type of stroller, it has two parallel bars for your baby's car seat to go on top of the basket.

It does save quite a bit of space, since all it's just a frame with a basket without the baby seat attached. It might be a bit of a pain getting the car seat in and out of the car every time you need to take baby out. It can't be said it's exactly a time-saver or anything. Pretty much, instead of unbuckling the baby and placing him or her in the stroller, you just unbuckle the whole car seat instead. On the flip side, it isn't wasting any time either. It also helps when your baby is sleeping, rather than remove him from his seat which will cause him to wake up, you can simply take the whole seat out of the car.

According to reviews, the main complaint about the Maclaren stroller is that there isn't a cup holder. It has also been said that the handles might be a bit tall for smaller parents, and they are regrettably not adjustable. Other complaints had to do with the baby being lower to the ground than a parent might like, the basket isn't accessible from the back of the stroller, and the basket, albeit being a good size, does fill up fast.

On the other hand, it has also been said that the basket is a good size (It depends on the parent. If you have more than one child, it may fill up faster.), it's extremely easy to steer, and is compatible with many car seats (even a few not on the list). The Maclaren is also extremely compact when folded up, saving more space than your everyday stroller.

How to Find Stroller Types That Best Match Your Newborn Baby

As new parents, you need to thoroughly prepare everything that your baby needs. One of the most useful investments that you can make for you and your newborn is a baby stroller. Taking your baby out in a stroller is much more practical and convenient than carrying your baby around. As a matter of fact, you can use it for the first four to five years of your child's life. So you should make sure that you choose the appropriate one. The basic rule of thumb: strollers for newborns should be able to fully recline. There are six types of baby strollers, each with its pros and cons. Not all are appropriate for your newborn. Below is the brief description of each type.

1. Standard or Full-size Strollers

Standard strollers are the most comfortable for babies. They are stable and they have large storage capacity as well as removable pads. They come in various designs, colors, and features. Most standard strollers suit newborns since they are equipped with full recline feature. The more expensive ones provide comfort not only for the baby but also for the carrier. They also come with more comfortable and sturdier handlebar, durable wheels, and advanced metal structure. However, the more features they have, the bulkier they get.

2. Lightweight or Umbrella Strollers

Lightweight strollers are also called umbrella strollers because of their umbrella-like canopies. This is the lightest and also the cheapest type. Unlike the standard type, umbrella strollers have fewer features and are made for convenience. They are best used for short trips. The compact design makes them easier to fold and store. You can put them in the trunk of your car or in the cabin of an airplane without any effort. Despite the convenience, these strollers are not as comfortable as the other types. Most of them are can not be reclined, so they are not suitable for newborns.

3. Jogging or All-Terrain Strollers

Unlike the usual four-wheel strollers, jogging strollers are equipped with three wheels. The front swivel wheel increases maneuverability. As the name suggests, this type of stroller is suitable for all terrain conditions. So it is perfect for outdoor activities such as walking, jogging, running, and hiking. Jogging strollers are durable and lightweight. However, certain models can be a bit too large and cannot be easily folded. Although some models have fully reclined seats, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that you should not use jogging strollers until your children are at least 6 months old.

4. Multiple Strollers

This type is the modified version of the standard stroller. Choose one with fully reclined seats if you want to use it for your newborns. The double strollers are ideal for parents with twin children or those with more than one infant or toddler. There are two types of multiple strollers - tandem strollers or side by side strollers. Tandem strollers are more convenient for narrow paths. However, your baby at the back seat will have very limited view. Side by side strollers provide equal view for your babies, but can be difficult to navigate through tight spaces.

5. Travel System Strollers

The travel system is the combination of a stroller and a car seat, therefore it is convenient for families on the go. Some models have the car seat permanently attached to the stroller, while others feature removable car seat. Because of its versatility, the travel system is actually less expensive than buying the components separately.

6. Backpack Strollers

These strollers can be easily folded into a backpack. They are convenient for outdoor activities such as hiking and sightseeing. They provide a better view for your baby and allow the freedom of using your hands since they do not require pushing.

While a great stroller does have the baby in mind, it's also important to choose something that's easy and comfortable to use on a daily basis.

Weight

One of the top features that always rates highly is a lightweight stroller. Heavy frames may seem like a strong and sturdy design made for long-term use, but it can certainly get very tiring pushing it around, even on small inclines. This tires you out and certainly causes a lot of strain on the body when having to lug it out of a car or carry it around with the baby every now and then.

There are many wonderful lightweight stroller designs that are made tough and durable but also light for those long days out or simply as less of a burden for repeated carrying and unloading.

Maneuverability

Another very important feature is wheel control and stroller maneuverability. This is very important for non-jogger stroller since they will generally be used outdoors and in every day settings like shops. Having a stroller that's very stiff or has uneven wheel control certainly dampens any time spent with it since most of the time will be spent trying to move it to the desired location without getting in anyone's way.

Smooth controls, good swiveling wheels and easy movement is essential for a stroller since one of the main purposes is to help you get from one point to another with as little effort as possible.

Padding

A stroller's main purpose is to provide comfort and safety to the baby sitting inside it. It's a way for the baby to see the world from a comfortable seated position or enjoy a peaceful nap when reclined. A stroller should always have thick and soft padding throughout the seat to ensure absolute comfort at all times. No matter which position the baby may be in, they should never feel discomfort or pain.

Check the seat padding for any soft spots or uneven padding levels since they may cause discomfort over a longer period of time. Also make sure to check how the padding moves when the seat is reclined, since there are some cheaper models that will have the padding bunch up and move along with the seat.

By keeping an eye out for these important features, you can rest assured that you've chosen the best stroller for many years of enjoyment for you and your little one.

Genealogy - Did Grandma Have a Grandma?

When I was a kid my maternal grandmother lived with us until she died of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1940. She was born in South Wales and was so small when she was born that they placed her in a sugar bowl and fed her with an eyedropper. The doctor said that she would not live but she was soon promoted to a shoe box and grew to a height of four-feet two inches.

When I was a boy, I always thought that she was so small because she was so premature. As a kid, it didn't dawn on me that her sister, who looked like her twin, was just as small and she had a normal birth as far as I know.

My grandmother learned to read English in her old age and I helped her with the words. She had lived in Utah since she was a young women and had outlived three husbands when she lived in our home. Her first husband died in the Scofield, Utah mine explosion along with about 250 other unfortunate souls. His name was George Martin and he sired two children before his demise in 1900.

My grandmother's second husband was George Taylor from whom I got my middle name (or my first name when I write as Taylor Jones the Hack Writer). Like Martin, he was a miner. My grandmother's last husband was named Burton and he was retired and dead before I was born so I don't know what he did for a living.

My grandmother's oldest son was named Dave Martin and he fought in the Great War. The Great War was the First World War where phosgene, and mustard gas were employed to do nasty deeds.

We kids use to help Grandma Martin Taylor Burton eat her breakfast every single morning. She always cooked two breakfast because the kids liked what she cooked better than what they could cook themselves.

I remember the day my grandmother died and I remember her horrible death snore as she passed on to the Great Beyond. I was eight years old.

So, I know something about my grandmother. I wasn't sure of the year of her death so I went to http://historyresearch.utah.gov/indexes/ and typed Burton, Mary Emily Taylor into the search box and up popped 1940.

That is called Genealogical Research.

I know nothing about my four great-grandmothers. If my grandmothers mentioned them, I don't remember the details.

So what if I wanted to find them?

Could I do it?

I could search census records, marriage records, death records, immigration records, and family records.

That would be a lot of work, right?

Well, let me tell you what is going on right now. Rather than ordering microfilm of old records, these old records are being indexed. That way, you will be able to find your ancestors quickly with a simple computer search.

For example, I just went to familysearch.org and typed in Mary Emily Taylor Burton. There were a lot of entries and I couldn't find her specifically, so I cheated. I put in my father's name and up popped his information. I clicked on "pedigree chart" and then clicked on my mother's name. That took me to my mother's pedigree chart and I quickly learned the name of my great-grandmother and learned that when I was trapping around Cornwall, England I was in the place of her birth, not North Wales. Her husband was the Welshman from Glamorganshire.

Once records have been indexed, it is much easier to do genealogy research. Many old records were microfilmed years ago. Now, you can help index these records. A couple of weeks ago I started indexing the 1900 Census records. I've now indexed such records for the states of Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

To start indexing, go to familysearchindexing.org. Follow the simple instructions. Note that you do not need to download the software if you have Java Script on your computer (as most folks do). You can quickly download the java script at http://java.com/en/ if that is the way you would like to go. If you don't want to use Java, download the software.

Indexing a census record is easy if you can read the handwriting. There are lots of sites on the internet that show old handwriting. An example is sullivanpress.com/Spencerian.htm I printed out the alphabet and use it as a guide when working on the 1900 census.

To index, you will be taking information from a census record and placing it into a table. First, you look at the upper right-hand corner of the census record for a big letter "A" or "B". That goes in the first box of the table (and all the way down the table in the first column).

Now look for a sheet number right under where you found the letter. That will go in the second column all the way down the page.

Now you are ready to index.

Type the following in each record: A or B, Sheet Number (these will come up automatically as you tab along the table), family number, surname, first name and initial or second name, title (Jr. Sr. Prince, Colonel, etc.), relationship (head, wife, sister, son, cousin, boarder, servant, etc.), race, sex, birth month, birth year, marital status, years married, children total, children living, place of birth, father's place of birth, mother's place of birth, year immigrated. You can note the occupations but do not put an occupation into the record.

Now hit tab until you get to the next family number and do it again.

There will be 50 records on a page. If a needed field (one with a *) is blank, use the "blank" button. If a whole record (line is blank), use the "blank line" button. If a space is unreadable, use the "U" button and if the whole line is not readable use the "U line" button.

As I index the census records for 1900, I see the difficulties some families had. Many children may have died of disease, Young mother's died possibly in childbirth. Children died in other ways, some most likely in the Civil War. Some families have adopted or step children from a second marriage. I had one record that was an institution where families where listed as prisoners, even little children. I wondered what could put a whole family in prison? Do you know?

As the Hack Writer, I like to look at the human experience. I never though much about getting such from a census record.

Well, don't just sit there. Start indexing. It's fun.

The End

First Birthday Invitation Sayings

Your child's first birthday is definitely a reason to celebrate and invite the whole world over to join you. For that you'll need birthday invitations, but even more important, you'll need some first birthday invitation sayings to put on them. Typically, the birthday invitation wording should be fun and playful, and perhaps matching an overall theme of the party. It's very common to see invitation wording for first birthday's to have a rhyming scheme or be in verse form. Here are some examples of some possible first birthday invitation verses:

"Our baby girl is turning one,
Come join us for a day of fun!"

Or,

"It's already time for his first birthday party,
Come celebrate with us and don't be tardy!"

You might consider including a theme. For example, if you want to have a princess themed party, you'll want to have the Royal Princess Party Invitations or the Little Princess Party Invitation. With wording to match, such as:

"Our little Princess requests your presence at a party in her honor,
To celebrate her first birthday.
Please join us at our castle on August 1st at 1PM."

Or if your little boy is having a dinosaur themed party, you'll want to have the Dinosaur Birthday Invitation with wording to match, such as:

"Saturday the 12th Alex turns one,
There's sure to be cake, ice cream and fun.
We can't wait to see you at our door,
You might even see a dinosaur!"

It's also recommended that you include a map with directions with the First Birthday Party Invitation, along with a contact phone number so that people can contact you in case they get lost. You can include this information in the body of the party invitation, such as:

"One candle on the cake,
On August 1st, don't be late!
Our baby's wish, he's turning one,
Is that you'll be there for all the fun!
Join us at 1234 West Park Street at 1PM
Please RSVP by July 25th
212-567-8910"

It can also be written on the back, separate from the birthday invitation wording, whatever your preference.

Some additional first birthday invitation saying suggestions:

"Fee, Fie, Foe, Fum,
Little Johnny's turning one!
His nursery rhyme party is almost here,
We hope we'll get to see you there!"

"Ice Cream, Cookies, Cake, oh my!
You're invited, so don't be shy!
A party for our little boy,
He's turning one, oh what a joy!"

Remember, you don't have to use rhymes.

"It's party time!
Join us for Ryan's 1st Birthday
Saturday 14th 2:00 - 4:00 pm
The Larken house
1603 "N" Street
Regrets only 707-234-5678"

First birthdays are fun so don't hesitate being creative and crafting a message that makes people smile. Or keep it simple, convey the facts and share the smiles during your little one's special day.

Review of Create a King From Two Twin Beds Product

The Create a King product is designed to allow you to create a king sized mattress or bed from two twin beds. To achieve this the product requires that you simply place two mattresses together, put the poly sheepskin along the middle, adjust a belt to suit the length of the mattresses, and then secure the belt. The adjustable snap-shut belting is designed to ensure that the mattresses stay together securely and won't come apart when being used by the sleeper. The goal of the product is to provide the dimensions, space and comfort of a king-size bed instead of having two separate twin mattresses.

The product is machine washable so it can be cared for much the same way you would keep the rest of your bedding maintained and clean. The color of the product is neutral or natural, but once you have the sheets on the bed you will not be able to see the Create a King. In addition, the product can fit mattresses that are up to 80 inches in length.

Some owners say that the product has let them down because the materials that it is made of seem inexpensive and of questionable quality. They say that all that the product essentially consists of is a thin and narrow article of sheepskin and a nylon belt. Some owners say that a securing clip on one of the straps gave out the first time they tried to use it. Other owners, however, are pleased with the real world usability of the Create a King and are happy with how the product transformed two twin mattresses into a much larger bed without having to pay the hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for a king-sized mattress.

Sexy Red Bedding

There's something about red that indicates passion. Red roses are given for Valentines day for that very reason. I also happen to think that red is very sexy. I cannot be the only one in the world who thinks this, otherwise how would red roses have come to be associated with Valentine's Day? But think of it, when you think of sexy shoes do you not get a picture of shiny red spike high heels in your mind? Same thing for a convertible sports car. A yellow sports car is cute, and a black one is hot, but a red one is sexy.

Now I may be a bit prejudiced here, because red happens to be my very favorite color. I am very drawn to it, and I use it wherever I can. I am so happy to see that red is coming back into fashion, as it has been out of fashion for such a long time. For the first time since having my own home, I have been able to find red dishes for my kitchen. That is very exciting to me.

Now, it used to be that if you wanted red bedding you had to settle for what you could find. And when it came to bedding, about the only thing that you could find were red satin sheets. Which are great by the way. Except that I don't really like to use satin for my everyday bedding. There are times when nothing but satin will do, but at other times Egyptian cotton or flannel are just as appropriate.

Since I am such a red freak, I tend to pay attention to what is happening with red in the fashion world. And I'm happy to say that it is making a comeback! Now, in addition to those sexy red satin sheets, you can find plain old red cotton sheets, Egyptian cotton red sheets, red comforters, red blankets, and red duvets. And you can get all of these products in all types of fabrics. Satiny and shiny, jacquard, Egyptian cotton, and with or without patterns.

I did not realize until I went to look for red bedding, how many sports teams there are out there that have red as their team color. And although I did not find any in anything beyond twin bedding size, there are actually quite a few teams that have twin comforters in red bedding. Washington state, University of South Carolina, University of Maryland, and the University of Arkansas are just some of the examples. They had these beautiful red twin size comforters, with the team logo stitched on top, that would go great in any kids room that is a sports fanatic.

There is also some really elegant looking red bedding reminiscent of the Victorian era. It is a great example of some gold and red bedding in a great brocade look. All kinds of red bedding is available on the market today, and my only regret is that I only have one bedroom and that my bedroom at the moment has wine colored carpet and the red would clash horribly with that.

Well, there is the spare bedroom that has a nice beige carpet in it.
